Brighton Photo Fringe

So last night I went to the opening of the Brighton Photo Fringe held in Hove. It was a great turn out, really good crowd and excellent music ;)
Some really interesting work was displayed via a projector but you really needed to pick up a catalogue to get a closer look at who is involved.

Heres just a few photographers I wanted to see more of:
Stephen King: http://www.stephenkingphotography.co.uk/portfolio/?c=35
Stuart Griffiths: http://www.stuartgriffiths.net/index.php
Portia Webb: http://www.portiawebb.com/page9.htm
Claire Richardson: http://www.clairerichardson.com/index.htm

Blackpool to Brighton

Ok, So I moved down to Brighton last week after finishing my BA (Hons) Photography degree at Blackpool & the Fylde College.
I came out with a 2.1 which I was really happy with :)
So I'm just settling in here for the time being and looking for some photography based work!

The exhibitions in London and Manchester last month went really well [see info below] and I got some great feedback:

The Guards Club

Since my last update on my long term uni brief, my project has changed slightly. Due to attending a few Royal Marines Association (RMA) meetings and meeting a few of the veterans I realised that I wouldn't be able to meet enough veterans to complete my project. Through attending this meeting I met the owner of The Guards Club in Blackpool who told me about a D-Day Veterans meeting that he runs every month. Therefore I altered my project to base it on the club where the D-Day Veterans meet. My project looks at who comes to the club and why. Some of these people are D-Day veterans and some of them are part of the club for other reasons. I feel this basis was strong enough to complete the following project:

Big BIG thankyou to my assistants throughout this project: Jack Boniface. Red Roberts. Ruth Richmond.

A re-edited version of this project can be seen here: http://debbieyates.co.uk/The+D-Day+Vets
